Higher-ups never seem to learn.
All of these instances demonstrate that certain managers simply get drunk on power. They get a taste of that power and go on a disciplinary rampage against everyone they can think of. This may appear too dramatic, yet it is a fact in most, if not all, of these instances. It’s as if they don’t comprehend that it’s the employees that run the company. Even if the manager is extremely qualified, he or she cannot accomplish everything.
So, most of the time, it’s entertaining to witness these folks shoot themselves in the foot and subsequently regret it. That is precisely what happened in this story. He had a good employee, and he chose to misuse his position by assigning all obligations to this employee, including some that were not in his job description. Despite this, he had the arrogance to chastise him for devoting too much time to his hobbies. Did I add that the employee’s “hobby” was actually developing a website for the boss?

The title says it all but all the juicy details are below.

Right from the start, it is clear that he did a lot more than he was paid for.

But he did that without making a fuss and he was never thanked.

He even took on making a guideline for the website design which led him to fall behind on his other tasks.

The boss wasn’t going to let this go and called him into the office.

Even after the employee explained, the guy continued to snap at him.

So he did what the boss had told him to do.

He clearly wasn’t expecting that and came to regret it instantly.

But it was too late and now he works in a much better company.

What did he expect to happen? Did he really believe he could walk all over his employee and he wouldn’t fight back? What particularly surprises me is that the employee was genuinely working on the website design that he desired. He wasn’t exactly lazy either. He simply wanted to put an ‘underling’ in his place, which cost him. I’m glad this person is doing well and has left that horrible workplace behind. Nobody deserves to be treated this way, after all.
Nobody ever said he was intelligent.

That might be it.

They simply misuse their power.

And it always comes to bite them in the end.

This is actually quite a nice way to put it.

What else was expected?

But that means they will have to feel inferior in some way and that is out of the question.

That is actually very true.

Some people love to micromanage.

They believe that is the only way to remain in power.

This technique is awful in my opinion.

He messed up and he realized it too late.

People even shared their own stories about similar circumstances.

This is actually a very interesting comment and sheds light on a lot of things.

Too many times to count.

It all ended well.
